About Us
Virginia Tech Urban Forestry is an education, research and outreach program in the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation at Virginia Tech.
We work with multiple stakeholder groups within and outside the University to address urban forest resource issues across the Commonwealth and beyond.
Our mission is to promote sustainable urban forests that provide tangible benefits to society by educating students, professionals, and citizens through the discovery and dissemination of knowledge.
We envision a society that values the economical, ecological, and social benefits of trees and an urban forest that is responsibly managed for composition, health, and safety by competent ressource professionals.
